In Port Sudan (east), under Sudanese flags, dozens of them shouted "No to the military power!" and "No to the coup!", a witness named Mohammed Hassan told AFP. Bashir, demonstrators protested in several cities against the attempted coup. If in the center of Khartoum the traffic remained fluid, including around the headquarters of the army where the demonstrators organized the main sit-ins that led to the fall of Mr. Officials said that the perpetrators of the "plot" had tried to take control of the state media building, "all positions that had been seized by the coup plotters" have been "taken back", according to the army. The coup attempt is not the first to target the transitional government formed after the April 2019 ouster of Omar al-Bashir, who was overthrown after 30 years of undivided rule.
